‘My favourite place is an unused old water reservoir above Drumkeeren, where the scenery is surreal and the air is so clean that lichen grows in meter lengths from the trees.’

As a Hungarian living abroad, I am fascinated with the uniqueness of the Irish environment. This vast land of bogs that contains hundreds of different life forms is a never-ending source of inspiration. My inspiration comes from interaction: my interaction with people and with the environment. I like to find beauty, rhythm and patterns around me in a search to find the hidden, invisible element which gives us simple pleasure in our everyday life.

Recently my works have been site-specific installations, responding to a space and my own journey as a human being. I use textiles in a way that challenges the viewer's preconceived notions about the material. I use mainly wool in conjunction with silk, different vegetable fibres, moss and lichen. I also sometimes combine it with sound and video projection. My latest works deal with boundaries, both inside and out: the self and its place in the present. Crossing lines and borders by working through time and space, observing the self and its changing perceptions, in an aim to create a space where the viewer can become part of this observation and interaction.

My other interest is in working with people: this is another type of interaction. Working on different arts projects is more about learning from each other, rather than just teaching or facilitating workshops, and for me it becomes part of the process of creating my own works. Recently I started to record this process and build up a website/blog.
