‘For me, photography is all about capturing light, attention to detail, early mornings, late evenings and a lot of patience.’

I am originally from Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim, and have now returned home after a number of years abroad - mainly in America. I am a self-taught photographer, and since I purchased my first Nikon, over 20 years ago, I have constantly been perfecting this art. For me, photography is all about capturing light, attention to detail, early mornings, late evenings and a lot of patience. My portfolio is continuously expanding and includes a variety of work collected while travelling abroad and throughout Ireland.

My studio is in my home, and from there I develop, frame and print all my own images. I have four distinct collections, but am best known for my wildflower photography and my landscapes. Many of my better-known landscape photographs have been taken in Leitrim, where the unspoilt countryside offers endless photographic opportunities. My collection has grown over the years to include a range of contemporary and abstract images also.

I consider myself fortunate in that I enjoy what I do, and with the advances in technology and equipment, the boundaries are constantly changing. In 2000, I became a member of the Leitrim Design House. My first sales through the Leitrim Design House, at Showcase Ireland in January 2001, helped to turn what began as a hobby into a profession. Since then, the business has gone from strength to strength, and my work has been sold throughout Ireland and abroad.
