I have always lived and worked in the West of Ireland. This magical and unspoilt territory, its landscape, its nature and its legends offers an endless source of inspiration. I am self-taught in the art of photography, and my portfolio spans a period of 20 years. In that time I have become highly skilled in the craft of the darkroom. This allows me to retain full control throughout the entire process. My work covers the island of Ireland, concentrating on the North West where I live, and also on the Atlantic and Antrim coasts. I seek out hidden undiscovered places. With an instinctive eye, I strive to capture beauty everywhere. After 20 years of exploring this territory, I still look at it with a fresh eye and respond with the same awe that inspired me at the start. I am interested in documenting the life of this area ; uncovering the hidden beauty of the landscape, its people, music, culture and those evocative fleeting moments in life. I hope my work encourages people to look more closely at the beauty that surrounds them.
